Cancellation Policy

Right of Cancellation for Consumers

A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither commercial nor related to their independent professional activity.

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without providing a reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you or a third party designated by you—other than the carrier—took possession of the goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us (Edition Tintenfaß, Dr. Walter Sauer, Neckarsteinacher Straße 7, 69239 Neckarsteinach, Phone: +49 (0)6229 2322, email: info@editiontintenfass.de) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (e.g., a letter sent by mail or an email). You may use the attached sample withdrawal form for this purpose, though its use is not mandatory.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notification of exercising your right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.

Consequences of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we must refund all payments we have received from you, including delivery costs (with the exception of any additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery option we offer), without delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on which we receive notice of your withdrawal from this contract. We will use the same payment method for this refund that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in no event will you be charged any fees in connection with this refund. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you have provided proof that you have returned the goods, whichever occurs first.

You must return or hand over the goods to us immediately, and in any case no later than fourteen days from the date on which you notify us of your withdrawal from this contract. The deadline is met if you ship the goods before the fourteen-day period expires. You are responsible for the direct costs of returning the goods. You are liable for any loss in value of the goods only if such loss is attributable to handling of the goods that goes beyond what is necessary to assess their nature, characteristics, and functionality.

Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

Pursuant to Section 312g(2) of the German Civil Code (BGB), there are statutory exceptions to the right of withdrawal:

- Goods that are manufactured according to customer specifications or are clearly tailored to personal needs (Section 312g(2)(1) BGB);

- Certain sealed goods, if the seal has been removed after delivery (Section 312g(2)(6) of the German Civil Code (BGB)).

Right of Withdrawal for Digital Content

When purchasing digital content that is not delivered on a physical medium (e.g., e-books, PDF files, downloads, or audiobooks), the right of withdrawal expires prematurely if we have begun performing the contract after you have expressly agreed that we may begin performing the contract before the expiration of the withdrawal period, confirmed that you lose your right of withdrawal upon your consent to the commencement of contract performance, and we have provided you with the corresponding confirmation of the contract on a durable medium.
