Susan Rennie
Dr Susan Rennie is a lexicographer and author from Edinburgh in Scotland. She has worked for the Oxford Dictionaries, Chambers Dictionaries and the Scottish National Dictionary Association, and was chief editor of the online Dictionary of the Scots Language at the University of Dundee. Her monograph Jamieson’s Dictionary of Scots (OUP) was shortlisted for the Saltire Society Research Book of the Year in 2012. She was a co-founder of Scots-language publisher Itchy Coo, and has written and translated several books for children in Scots, including the award-winning Animal ABC: A Scots Alphabet (2002). Her Scots translations include: The Wee Prince (Tintenfass, 2017), We’re Gangin on a Bear Hunt (2016), The GFG (2016, a translation of Roald Dahl’s The BFG), and eight Tintin adventures including The Derk Isle (2013) and Tintin i the Snaws o Tibet (2017). She is also the author of the bestselling Oxford Roald Dahl Dictionary (2016) and Roald Dahl Thesaurus (2019).
